September 12th: “Driving Around in Circles, The Austin Area Traffic & Transportation Dilemma” – Dr. Jennifer Duthie
Dr. Duthie is a Research Engineer at The University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Transportation Research. Her talk focused on the challenges and innovations in designing solutions to the traffic problems in Austin. She talked about how technology is shaping and will continue to shape our transportation system, including the use of smartphone apps, driverless vehicles, and improved safety. Political roadblocks and equity challenges were also discussed.
